DELL has promised a new laptop by the end of this year with two major features we've been impatiently waiting for:
- Instant On access. Want to check email real quick? Hit the power button and your email client and web browser are live in 1 - 2 seconds. Nice!
- 19 hour battery life. 19 hours. Let me say that again, 19 hours. My Vaio gets about 75 minutes. The new DELL will get 19 hours.
See more details here.

Keep Norfolk Beautiful Holly Carson, Education Coordinator
The needs of Keep Norfolk Beautiful and the residents we serve had grown beyond the abilities of our previous website. We needed to upgrade to a site that was more visually motivating, could offer more user-friendly functions for our visitors, and be managed by staff to provide up-to-the-minute information.
One example is our news page. The management is much simpler, and provides us the ability to embed images and include hyperlinks, which was not possible in our previous site. Though this may seem like a small change, it's given us the ability to link our visitors to a wider array of information options, expanding our ability to provide them the direction or information for which they are searching.
Working with JASE has afforded Keep Norfolk Beautiful the ability to serve residents in a more efficient and effective manner. The staff of Keep Norfolk Beautiful has learned much through the experience and will carry that with them in future developments. We are very happy with how well our new website is working for us.

JASE Group CEO, Keith Parnell, speaks out on his blog against the proposed development of standards against Social Media.
I was involved in a very interesting conversation yesterday on Twitter. A few friends were discussing to realities, pros and cons of developing standards for Social Media. What thoughts do you have? Here's how the first conversation went on the microblog:
@astrout: Just had a GREAT conversation w/ fellow SMC board member @spatially (aka Jon). We're talkin' SM standards y'all!
@parnellk63: @astrout - "SM" = social media? Setting standards for social media seems anti social media. Forgive me if my assumptions are incorrect. @chrispian: @parnellk63 I think we should set standards for setting standards. This is getting out of hand!
@astrout: @parnellk63 ha ha - that's a fair point... however, as social media takes hold in the corp. environment, people need standards to scale
@astrout: @parnellk63 to build on that, it's really about standardizing data portability, social graph info and licensing/usage rights
@parnellk63: @chrispian - Funny. So true.
@parnellk63: @astrout - Setting standards against a new/volatile industry right now could cause more damage than encourage the thinkers to be thinkers.
@astrout: @parnellk63 I don't see it that way - in my mind, it's giving them an open architecture that everyone is using so that everyone can use
@parnellk63: @astrout - But creating those standards so soon will cut the basement entrepreneurs right out of the picture. And we need their ideas.
@astrout: @parnellk63 fair point, but think about XML or the opensource movement - it's less about trying to control & more about creating scalability
@parnellk63: @astrout - XML and SM is not a fair comparison. SM = ideas and communication. More intangible than XML or Open Source.
@astrout: @parnellk63 also true, but when you think RE SM in the enterprise, it needs to work with other stuff, reg systems, profiles, 3rd party, etc.
@snowcialmedia: @astrout @parnellk63 While I am in favor of standards/streamlining, I agree that doing it too soon will limit [much-needed] thinking/ideas.
@astrout: @parnellk63 @snowcialmedia this is very helpful as I work w/ @spatially & others to think through issues - thx for your point/counterpoint!

Central Virginia Amateur Softball Association Julie Pollard, CVASA Online Marketing Director
I have found the JASE Group to be great to work with. Their skill set, their ability to recognize the problem and resolve it quickly and their willingness to work with folks that are not computer savvy all make my job so much easier. The first year I just learned how to use the many different parts of our web site. The second year I was able to request changes and talk about better ways to do the things we needed on our end.
In todays world anyone can create a web site. In order for it to be useful, productive and easy, the host is required to understand the client, their wants and needs. This is where the JASE Group has excelled. Keith Parnell and his team have worked very hard to promote Central Virginia ASA by working closely with the Commissioner, the staff, the umpires and everyone else. One could not ask for a better group to partner with. Central Virginia ASA will continue to use JASE Group as we grow and expand our services to softball teams, players, umpires and others throughout Central Virginia.
